Worka Chelbessa

Regular price $18.50

Worka Chelbessa is a name that brings a ton of people back to "that coffee;" you know, the one that changed their coffee lives. This coffee is a touch different than the naturals of old. Instead of only having that big red/purple fruit it also has vibrant florals to add in some lovely high notes and complexity.

The kebele (community) of Worka Chelbessa is the largest coffee growing area in the district of Gedeb. This year, a company called SNAP, founded by Nugusse Debela, took over management of this site in Worka Chelbessa.

Negusse Debela has not been in the coffee industry long. In fact he is known in Ethiopia as a computer guy. On a recent trip to Minnesota, Negusse ordered a pour-over that changed his whole mindset about the potential of Ethiopian Coffee. On his return home, Negusse began on a mission for SNAP to be the best quality exporters in Ethiopia. Since then, Negusse hired Abenezer Asafaw, an energetic and young coffee professional as his wuality and coffee manager. SNAP has also bought land to procee coffee themselves but also have started managing processing sites all over.
